Traidcraft (8 photos)
Afternoon Tea and Sale - November 2017
Traidcraft Afternoon Tea – Traidcraft held a very successful afternoon tea and shopping event on 4 November. Lots of fun and laughter and a great buzz of conversation in Lochnagar. To set the mood the choir did some carol singing in the foyer - there was lots of fun and amusement there too!
Over £280 was raised from the teas and the various games and raffles available. In addition over £600 was spent on buying Traidcraft goods from the sales table or ordering items from the Traidcraft catalogue. The £280 and the profits from the sale of goods will all be donated to Traidcraft to support Traidcraft projects.
Guild Easter Tea - April 2018 (6 photos)
The Guild's Easter Afternoon Tea raised £315. In this Year of the Child the Guild are using most of the money to support a small Ugandan charity: Friends of Bulenga Modern Primary School. Our Guild will be sponsoring two children starting from P.1 and hopefully seeing them through their primary years! They will be funding their schooling, school uniforms and lunches.
Jesus is our superhero! (2 photos)
Pity there are only pictures and you can't hear how great the choir and guitars sounded singing "Jesus is our Superhero" and what fun they had doing it too!
2018 Year of Young People (8 photos)
On 18 January we celebrated the start of the Year of Young People. We were greeted at the church door by our talented young bagpiper. Her playing was greatly admired by all the congregation as well as a few walkers and other passers-by. A great way of showing there is something happening in our church!
The choir got in the spirit of things with an animated rendering of “Every Single Little Thing our Young People Bring”, the new song specially written for the Church of Scotland’s Year of Young People by Stephen Fischbacher (of Fischy Music fame).
