Mid Deeside Church

The Church of Scotland

A very warm welcome awaits you when you join us at our Worship Services. While our sanctuary is being renovated, our morning services are held in the Lochnagar room in Mid Deeside Church extension every Sunday at 11.00am.

There is access for wheelchair users via the front entrance of the church. The  loop system is now operational in Lochnagar, so if required switch to the T position on your hearing aid. Large print hymn sheets are available for those who require them.

A crèche is available for our Pebbles youngsters. The children from Rocking Stones and their leaders join us for the first part of the service before they participate in their own activities in Morven – one of our other church meeting rooms. Any visiting youngsters are invited to join in with any of these groups.

Some members of the congregation participate in the services by doing the Bible readings or leading prayers. Our Singing Group participates in all our services and our Praise Band – an enthusiastic group of musicians of all ages - perform on various occasions throughout the year. Their contribution to our services  enhances our worship and is much appreciated by the congregation.

Our minister, Rev Alec Wark, is keen to introduce more variety in our worship services. In addition to traditional services we also include occasional guest speakers or short drama performances by members of the congregation.

Tea and coffee are served following the service when a time of informal fellowship is enjoyed. There is an opportunity to buy some Fair Trade goods from the Traidcraft trolleys. This is well supported by the congregation. We also support the Banchory Food Bank.

The flowers provided to enhance the sanctuary each week are taken after the service to a person or family in the community who may be suffering from illness or bereavement or celebrating a special occasion. This visit from the church is appreciated as much as the flowers.

Our monthly Sunday evening services are held on the third Sunday of alternate months in Christ Church, Kincardine O’Neil and MDC Hall  Lumphanan at 6.30pm. Communion services are held in Spring and Autumn.
